Inspired by a video from Matt D'Avella, "Get Your New Year's Resolutions to Stick" I decided to take monthly challenges to push myself out of my comfort zone. Below are the challenges I've tried thus far, and the impact they have made on me.

I choose this challenge because it opened my mind to the idea that having a warm shower or bath is such a privilege. Also cold showers and baths are really good for your health.
In my journey to lose weight I choose to exercise every day and see how it affected me. Exercising opened a world to me of feeling better and more energized.
This one was by far the most challenging for me. Staying up late and waking up early doesn’t really work. I decided in order to make myself feel better I needed to have a good sleeping schedule so this is why I challenged myself to wake up early.
I tried to meditate in the past but never could get a grip on it. I came across a page on YouTube that helped me identify what meditation was and how good it was for the body. I meditated 20 minutes a day and it helped me with my anxiety.
By far my favorite challenge I got into a car accident in march and it screwed up my back. After letting my back heal and going to the chiropractor I choose to stretch. This was one of the best and worst times of that month. Since I was stretching everything was sore but it also helped me with my back pain.
This challenge came to me walking into my garage in late June. I was looking for something else to do besides my daily walking and saw my bike in the garage. I hadn’t rode it since I got it and decided for the month of June I was going to ride 5 miles a day and o boy was it hard.
I tend to only read books during the school year and they are all very boring. I went to the book store and picked up the book “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero. I just starting this book but boy is it good. It’s a self help book but is very good and explains how life can change if you put in a effort.
I stayed away from all fast food this month. I made sure I wasn't hungry throughout the day and I didn't drive near any fast food places. This challenge was not too hard for me.
I completed 20 pushups, 20 sit-ups, 20 jumping jacks, and 20 air squats for 2 rounds. This was a killer one, I was used to doing anything like this and needed a week or so to get used to everything. I was pretty sore but fought through the pain to make sure I got it done.
Another tough one! Drinking 100 ounces a day is not fun and is a lot of water. I made sure for myself that I would break it up into small sections and have a big glass in the morning to get it started off.
This month was easy and hard at the same time. During this time I was going through a little bit of a stomach issue with dairy so I decided to not drink or eat any dairy products and it really helped.
To finish off the year I wanted to make good healthy choices on my meals and it was the perfect challenge. It’s so big so I felt like I was trapped to feeling some way about beating it.
